For bonding parquet and wood block flooring and protecting them from residual moisture in an eco-friendly manner.

Suitable for numerous types of parquet. Boards with a width-to-thickness ratio of 7:7 and wood block flooring are its speciality. A balanced degree of elasticity ensures a secure bond with the subfloor in the event of changes in the indoor climate. Applying a closed layer of adhesive with trowel no. 12 protects against damage due to rising residual moisture

SMP ADHESIVES

SMP adhesives used a binder of a silane modified polyether. The silane groups react with the water in the air and from the substrate giving off minimal quantities of methanol. Because of their elasticity, the natural swelling and shrinkage of the wood can be very well balanced. 

SMP-950 is recommended for solid wood floorboards as forces on solid floorboards are higher than with multi-layer wood flooring.

 

Priming the floor

Wood flooring may be directly bonded to screed with STAUF SMP/SPU or PUK type adhesives without the surface needing to be additionally primed and filled. This approval applies to all properly cured substrates (i.e., resistant, firm, level, clean and dry) such as, for example, cement screed, anhydrite screed (both also for floor heating)
